Edinburgh University scientists may have easy way to produce malaria parasite proteins for vaccines

Scottish scientists claim major breakthrough in a vaccine for malaria.  Vaccines must include certain proteins from malaria parasites in order to create antibodies and strengthen the immune system. For malaria parasite proteins, this has proven to be difficult.   Edinburgh University scientists now claim to have found an easy and cheap method for producing malaria parasite proteins. 

 

t has worked in tests using mice.  If it works in people it could save 500,000 people a year.
