Texas doctors at the University of Texas Medical Branch grow human lungs in their fish tank!

Doctors at the University of Texas Medical Branch say they have has spent the last decade mastering a technique to grow human lungs in a fish tank. 

"The changes that are happening in the field are really exciting," said Dr. Joan Nichols, one of the lead authors of the study. "This is like science fiction."

The doctors technique uses damaged lungs from donors, lungs that can't be used in a transplant.

We have come a long ways from growing ears on mice.
